This review of the Netflix film Get the Goat does not contain spoilers. The film will be released on the streaming service on March 18, 2021.

The main gag of Get the Goat is that the two leading cops are the furthest away from being noteworthy police officers; Bruceuilis likes to believe he has the strength and authority to bring down any conspiracy — he lacks the experience due to his quiet town; Trindade does not want the life of a cop, happily attempting to evade missions as a desk duty officer. Buddying them both up is the comedy in itself and director Vitor Brandt seems to hone in on that.

Netflix’s Get the Goat comes in waves; some scenes motor by, whereas others have your attention, getting a slight smirk from the audience. This comedy is not incredibly funny, but it does enough to keep the story interesting. The script relies on gags heavily, ensuring that each scene has something audacious going on, but going back to the previous statement, the selling point is the story of two cops who should not really be cops.

Basked in its quirkiness, Get the Goat manages to pull through and make it to the final act. Thankfully, the cast seems to enjoy themselves, which resonates with the audience. This is far from a perfect comedy, but it does execute the silly but simple buddy cop adventure.
