GG Precinct Review 2024 Tv Show Series Cast Crew Online
Episode 1 of GG Precinct begins with a strange hooded man killing a night security guard. At present, the Netflix show picks up after the events of the movie, Marry My Dead Body. Wu Ming-han is finally back after being shot. Chang Yung-kang has become the precinct chief. Chubby is back and we see 2 new faces – Shao-nien, the method actor of an undercover cop and Li Shu-fen, a diligent profiler who only focuses on MBTIs.
As for the new captain, Ming-han thinks he will be chosen but it turns out to be Lin Tzu-ching, the mole from Marry My Dead Body. Ming-han is furious as he got shot because of her. However, it is revealed that she was working undercover and when she escaped with the thug, Hsiao-yuan’s money, she brought it to the precinct. Ming-han doesn’t believe her and is further unhappy when she makes changes like no eating at the station to increase productivity.
The security guard’s murder is called in and Ming-han and Chubby head over. On the way, Ming-han rants about Tzu-ching and almost runs over Hsiao-wu, the poor security guard who called in the murder.
As for the scene of the crime, the victim is covered in feathers and fish scales. He also has an antler headband on. The driveway CCTV catches 9th-floor resident, Chang Po-lun who is currently missing.
Back at the precinct, Ming-han and Tzu-ching clash over investigative strategies. But it is Chief Chang who makes headway as he notices the murder is similar to the Idiom Murders.
20 years ago, the Idiom Monster killer was Shui-yan, a teacher. He was extremely strict and used to threaten to kill his students. Following an exam, he actually followed through but killing and rearranging the corpses to fix the spelling mistakes they had made.
Chang points out that the security guard’s death is also an idiom – As rare as phoenix and unicorns.
The next day, another corpse is found with a similar MO of blunt trauma to the head. This one’s teeth are pulled out and he is found prostrating in front of a memorial. Tzu-ching decides to talk to the Idiom Monster and drags Ming-han along. Shui-yan is brought in a straight-jacket and Hannibal-esque mask and the first thing he notices is that Ming-han is doodling on an idiom’s book and refuses to stand up.
Shui-yan is amused and he accurately guesses that Ming-han was a bad student and while he has come along to “protect” Tzu-ching, he is more worried about his male dignity and letting Tzu-ching surpass him. However, they call a truce as Shui-yan headbutts the cop but Ming-han is not deterred.
Shui-yan goes through the files and points out that the second murder is for the idiom – Thirst for knowledge. He suggests that there will be another murder soon and tells the cops to come over then. After they leave, he starts writing an idiom on his cell wall while the copycat kills another at the end of GG Precinct Episode 1.
The Episode Review
Who would have thought we’d be getting a sequel to the iconic Taiwanese movie, Marry My Dead Body 2 whole years later, but here we are. Almost everyone from the old cast is back including Greg Hsu as Wu Ming-han and Gingle Wang as Lin Tzu-ching. We do miss Austin Lin as Mao Mao and wonder if he will be making a cameo in some way.
Well, onto the Netflix show, GG Precinct Episode 1 kicks off in a fun way that quickly recaps the events of the movie for those who haven’t watched it. It also sets up the foundation for the overarching mystery of the copycat killer and the rivalry between Tzu-ching and Ming-han.
But how much do you guys want to bet that the copycat killer and Shui-yan are working together? Not only does the teacher predict the next kill, he also writes an idiom on his wall which we are sure is the focus of the third murder.
