Review: First I would like to say that I am a great fan of the original film and hold the classic 1988 black comedy in high high regard. Also I would like to say that I really hate most remakes and reboots, I just can not stand them not including 2017’s IT which I love very much, but most others I hate. When I first heard of the to show actually only today (which is very odd) I was happy to see what they did with it, and just to say I am sticking around for the rest of the series because I can not wait to see what they will do with this. When I first saw the trailer I was both surprised and confused, I was suprised to see what they did with the characters, let me tell you I love the diversity with them, the only problem is this it not an insult to Gays or anything, but maybe they should have just left Heather Duke alone, sorry it just seems that a girl would be more suited with the role and not a boy. And maybe with the whole lesbianism thing with one of the Heathers (I know the name, but I know I would get the spelling wrong). I just think they should have sticked with the straight blonde and hot girls.
Because that is what makes the Heathers so iconic, because they are relatable to so many people as there are girls like the original Heathers at every school. But honestly how many schools have fat, lesbian and gay popular kids. I would find that many of you would say no. I am sorry but to me it seems like the creators of the show are just trying to get in with new normal. But otherwise this is a really good show, and I can not wait to see what happens. For those people who are shaming the show, just try to forget where the show is rooting from. Then you will appreciate it more. Also one more thing some bits are a bit cringy especially when they rip of dialogue from the original film. Such as when Veronika states the iconic line to Heather “lick it up baby, lick it up” it just seems weird.
