Review: Will save his grandfather
Theodor’s only friend is his old grandfather Harald. When Harald falls into a deep sleep, and everyone says he will soon die, Theodor travels to the land of the stars – Thannanaya – to try to retrieve him home before reaching the gate of death.
Magic adventure
On his journey, he becomes a company of classmate Simone, who herself desires to pick up someone she has loved, home to life again. Theodor and Simone are whirled into a magic adventure as they are being faced with some soul-raising trials in Thannanaya, a world most reminiscent of Narnia.
‘Theo & The Magic Talisman’ breaks in many ways with the more classic Christmas calendars. Christmas eve will be held with presents and dance about the Christmas tree, but here it will be Christmas too.
The Christmas calendar tries to treat something to the hardest of life, namely death. At the same time it is a real family Christmas calendar that contains different layers, so that both the youngest and the oldest in the family get some of it. Death is dealt with and we can see it in the Christmas calendar from our own point of view, whether we are children, parents or the elderly, to say goodbye to life.
Theo & The Magic Talisman is a modern adventure tale for the whole family, where we are taken on a trip to the natural park of Thannanaya. Ships on 1st to 24th. December at 19.30 on DR1.
Fantasy for the whole family
Theo is in 6th grade, but he has no friends in school. His only and best friend in the world is Morfar Harald. It is therefore overwhelming for Theo, when the grandfather just falls before Christmas. There is a prospect that Theo may lose his best friend, and he will not let it happen to anything in the world. He therefore travels into the magical world of Thannanaya with the new girl from the class, Simone, to get her grandfather back. And here the journey begins for Theo & The Magic Talisman.
Theo & The Magic Talisman is a magical and timeless tale of three generations of ways to say goodbye to; a young boy’s goodbye to his grandfather, a mother’s goodbye to his father and an old man’s farewell to life on Earth. Theo & The Magic Talisman is a modern adventure tale for the whole family, where we are taken on a journey to the natural war Thannanaya, which Theo and the grandfather have created together. Here Theo and Simone discover that there is light and hope and that life continues – those whom we have said goodbye will always be with us and live on as long as we remember them.
