Review: The Swedish tv series is based on an idea from the renowed author and criminologist Leif GW Persson and the scriptwriters Aaron Levander and Hans Jörnlind, focusing on creating a realistic picture of police matters. The psychological drama is a dark story with a plot circling around the very foundations of society and the law system.
The police investigator Peter Wendel, played by Robert Gustafsson (The 100-Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared), returns to the force after a long sick leave. He gets assigned the department of cold cases and a team of investigators that, well, nobody else wanted. Wendel is struggling with his own demons as the department’s new case is stirring up old and repressed memories.
Gone in Snow is airing tonight in Sweden on Kanal5 and can also be seen on Viaplay. No international release date is yet announced. The drama is produced by Yellow Bird, in co-production with Discovery Networks Sweden, Viaplay and Nordisk Film, in association with DR, TV Norge, YLE, Simmin Iceland, ALE Kino Poland, Lumiere, support from the Swedish Film Institute.
