But, Abby quickly discovers it may be impossible to escape Richard all together. (2021)
Thoughts
Nightmares torment Abby. She dreams of a man who was obsessed with and is stalking her in real life. On a photoshoot, Richard shows up in sunglasses and gets an ear full from Ms. Vivica A. Fox. He is possessive, violent, and jealous of Abby. Ms. Vivica A. Fox offers Abby a place to stay and is helping her get out of the abusive relationship. (Abby is her star photographer.)
Ms. Vivica sets Abby up in a secluded air BnB for a getaway. It seems like that might be a bad idea when you are in a Lifetime movie.
Jen, Richard’s new girlfriend, goes through his phone after having some sexy time with the hunk. He catches her going through his phone and looking at old pictures of him with Abby. He takes the phone and says, “See no Evil!” (At least he didn’t kill her, we know Richard is the bad guy from the get-go!)
Abby arrives in the smalltown and takes some pictures of the beautiful lakeside and then some more of an even more beautiful man. He is a shirtless hunk working on some… yard work. He catches her and makes the goofiest (but adorable face.)
The cabin isn’t so much a cabin; it is the same house from The Wrong Real Estate Agent. (Or at least the exteriors are.) Richard tracks Abby somehow and leaves threatening voicemails and text messages.
Abby continues to see the shirtless hunk around town and take pictures of him. He knows that she is shooting him and stretches sexily. Then he follows her and takes a picture of her. Turnabout is Fairplay. They go to have a drink, and the hunks turns out to be a guy named Logan. He sees a text come in from Richard and is concerned for her safety. Abby shares about her stormy relationship with her ex. He offers to buy her another drink and take her home. Logan is either a killer or about to be killed. Poor Logan!
Home alone in the large house, Abby hears a loud noise in the house while she is on the phone with Ms. Vivica A Fox. It is the intruder in a black hoodie. Abby calls the cops, but they brush her off. The police come by the next day and aren’t much help.
Meanwhile, Jen continues to look through Richards’s phone and gets caught again. Richard roughs her up and is an abusive jerk. After he hits her, he says, “look what you made me do.” WHICH IS SO MESSED UP!!!!
Abby and Logan get to know one another better over breakfast. He brings over some old school photo development equipment. They convert one of the rooms into a dark room and joke about shoots Logan in the nude. (Ummm, yes, please.) Cue a flirty “setting up the darkroom” montage. (While someone watches them in a hoodie and sunglasses in the woods. Logan and Abby have sex, and she drifts off to sleep and has another nightmare about Richard. When she wakes up, Logan is gone, but in the darkroom is a photo with his face scratched out. (So that isn’t good!) Abby calls Logan and THEN the police. (She might have that backwards.) Logan rushes to Abby’s rescue with a tire iron. Inside he runs into Richard. Surprise, surprise, they are working together.
Jen continues to look through Richards’s phone while he is in the shower. While I usually am into the shower scened, but Jen is pushing her luck. Richard murders her while comparing her to a cat with nine lives, which is rude. Jen is an amazing woman who deserved better.
Abby continues to hook up with Logan and notices a peeping hole in the shower, which is creepy AF!!!! It is Norman Batesy. It is a catalyst for Abby to start looking into things because they seem… off. First, Abby goes to the police and tries to track down the owners of the Air BnB. She tracks them down and asks about the hole in the shower. The owner is horrified and says that it was not there before.
Ms. Vivica A. Fox puts in a wellness call for Abby. She is concerned for her friend. (Can we talk about Ms. Vivica A. Fox’s phone acting? She is excellent at it and is always calling in to check in on the lifetime heroine of the moment.)
Logan has a change of heart and tells Richard that he is out. Richard doesn’t take it well and breaks his neck. The police officer goes into the house after the call from Ms. Vivica A. Fox and finds Logan’s body. He is next on Richard’s hit list.
Abby comes home and grabs a knife. She walks slowly around the house with a butcher knife. (Which reminds me, I need to practice this skill sometime.) She finds the police office in the shower with the peephole. (It would have been better if she saw him through the peephole.) Then she finds photos of her hanging up in the darkroom.
Richard shows up in a tight t-shirt and is ready to confront Abby. He tells her that he loves her and then reveals the plan he concocted with Logan to keep tabs on her. She hides behind some photos and then stabs Richard in the back. Then instead of running out of the house, she hides in the garage.
Ms. Vivica A. Fox shows up to save Abby. She is held hostage by Richard for like two seconds, but she elbows him in the stomach and knocks the gun out of his hands. The police arrive, and Ms. Vivica A. Fox is SAVAGE. She tells Abby that she has “terrible taste in men, because you picked the wrong fiance.” Damn Ms. Vivica A. Fox!
